Top Painting Trends for Colorado Homes in 2025

    AdminBy AdminAugust 22, 2025

Ok so, here’s the thing about paint. Every couple years what’s “cool” just flips. Like remember when everybody and their neighbor had gray walls? Felt like half of Colorado went gray + white inside. Looked clean but kinda cold too. Now in 2025, it’s different. People want warmer stuff, more natural, and also stuff that actually survives here. Cause Colorado weather is no joke… one week snow, next week blazing sun, paint gotta hold up.

We at Windsor Painting have been doing jobs all over lately and yeah, you start noticing patterns. Folks keep asking for the same kinda things. Some are brand new, others are like old styles sneaking back. So here’s what’s poppin right now if you’re thinking about switching things up.

    1. Warm Neutrals (goodbye cold gray)

Gray was fine, but it got kinda boring tbh. Now it’s more about warmer neutrals. Beige, cream, light browns, sandy kinda shades. Doesn’t feel so icy in the winter. Makes your living room feel like you wanna sit down with a blanket instead of feeling like you walked into a dentist’s office.

    2. Accent walls aren’t dead yet

People online keep saying accent walls are over. Nah. We still paint a lot of them here. But instead of bright crazy colors it’s more moody tones now. Dark green, navy, charcoal, stuff like that. A lot of folks want them in offices or bedrooms, like just behind the bed.

    3. Matte finish is winning

Gloss shows everything. Like every little dent, every kid fingerprint, dog smudge, whatever. Matte or eggshell hides all that. And honestly looks softer. We’ve seen restaurants and offices go matte too—it just feels less harsh on the eyes.

    4. Two-Tone exteriors

This is big lately. Instead of painting the whole outside one color, people go two. Like deep blue house with white trim. Or tan with dark brown trim. It makes the house pop more. And yeah, it helps with resale too, people driving by are like “oh that house looks nice” instead of “meh.”

    5. Eco paints

Not the funnest topic but important. More folks asking for low-VOC paints. Less stink, safer for pets and kids. If you ever painted a bedroom and couldn’t sleep in it cause the smell was too strong—you get it. These newer paints are way better, dry quick, no headache smell.

    6. Dark kitchens (yeah really)

White kitchens are slowing down. Lately we’ve done kitchens with navy or even black cabinets. First people look at us like “isn’t that gonna be too dark?” but then when it’s done they’re like wow this looks sharp. Pair dark cabinets with light walls and it just works. Looks more custom too.

    7. Colors from nature

Kinda obvious in Colorado cause we’re surrounded by it, but nature tones are trending. Greens, blues, grays like stone, even earthy clay colors. People say it feels calming, not so “builder grade.”

    8. One warning tho

Trends come and go fast. One year everyone’s doing farmhouse white, next year they hate it. So don’t go chasing trends too hard. Pick stuff you can live with. Cause paint ain’t permanent, but it’s not fun re-doing it every year either.

    Why people pick Windsor Painting

Painting yourself seems easy till you start and then halfway through you’re like why does this look patchy?? Or the paint’s peeling in a year cause prep wasn’t done right. That’s where we help.

At Windsor Painting we handle both houses and businesses. We offer Residential and Commercial Painting Services that actually hold up here in Colorado’s wild weather. We don’t cut corners cause if we do it shows quick. Our guys have painted everything from apartments in town to big homes out in the suburbs, plus restaurants and offices too.

And honestly? We care that it comes out looking like you wanted, not just “eh close enough.”

    Wrapping up

So yeah, in 2025 painting trends in Colorado are going warmer, more natural, more matte. Accent walls still around. Exteriors with two tones. Darker kitchens. Eco paints. Nature vibes.

But like I said, trends are just ideas. The best thing is picking something you’ll actually like in 5 years too. Windsor Painting is here if you want help deciding colors, figuring out what paint works for Colorado climate, or just making sure the job looks good the first time.

We’ll handle the messy stuff so you can just enjoy your new walls.
